The National Police have arrested twelve individuals in Zaragoza who formed part of a cell of the youth gang Dominican Don't Play, according to information provided by the Ministry of the Interior. Those arrested face accusations of belonging to a criminal organisation, selling drugs, possessing weapons illegally, occupying dwellings belonging to others and defrauding electricity.
Several months ago, officers specialising in violent groups noted that this cell had significantly intensified its activity in the Zaragoza neighbourhoods of Delicias and San José. They also observed that its ranks were growing significantly.
The group operated with a well-defined structure and a clear division of functions among its members. Investigators determined that income came principally from drug trafficking and robberies.
The operation concluded with two raids on dwellings in the Aragonese capital. During these, knives and other dangerous objects, imitation pistols, illicit substances, precision scales, bandana scarves, electric scooters and electronic devices were seized and are now being examined.
The twelve arrested individuals were brought before the Court of First Instance in Zaragoza. The judge ordered the imprisonment of seven of them. The investigation remains open and further arrests are not ruled out.
