Court of First Instance number 11 in the Valencian capital has ordered the preventive imprisonment of the man who, allegedly, killed the specialist who was treating his young son. The precautionary measure is unconditional: no bail amount has been set for his release.
The incident took place on the previous Monday at a medical centre in Valencia. The arrested man remained in police custody for three days before appearing before the magistrate. The TSJCV—the regional high court—has confirmed that the investigation is being opened on the grounds of an alleged homicide offence, although the legal classification could change as proceedings advance.
The arrest took place in unusual circumstances: the father himself presented himself at Burjassot police station with blood stains on his hands and admitted his involvement in the incident. His version is that he discovered signs that the professional had sexually abused the child, which allegedly drove him to commit the fatal assault.
According to his account, he left the boy in the consultation and went out to smoke. Shortly afterwards, he heard the child screaming. When he re-entered the room, he observed that the boy was not wearing his lower clothing, a circumstance that made him fear the worst. He then angrily demanded to be shown the security camera recordings.
The argument escalated and the therapist died after receiving multiple stab wounds. Investigators found a blade approximately fifteen centimetres long next to the body, which is believed to have been used as the murder weapon.
The suspect insists that he acted without premeditation. However, the case remains open: officers are examining the deceased's electronic devices, reviewing cameras from neighbouring businesses and taking statements from other families who attended the same specialist.
