A court in the city of Valencia has ordered the provisional imprisonment, with no possibility of bail, of the man arrested after killing the professional who was treating his young son. The death occurred the previous Monday inside a rehabilitation centre in the Marxalenes district, according to the newspaper ABC.
The judge of the Court of Instruction number 11 adopted this precautionary measure following the appearance of the accused, who spent three days in police custody. The regional superior court, the TSJCV, has indicated that the investigation is currently focused on an alleged murder offence, although it does not rule out that the legal classification may change as the investigation progresses.
The arrested man voluntarily presented himself at police headquarters with traces of blood on his hands. There he cited as his motive alleged improper touching of his child. According to his statement, he burst into the room where the session was taking place and found the child, barely two years old, with his lower clothing rolled up and without a nappy, in the company of the specialist. In that situation, he would have demanded answers and access to alleged security camera recordings which, according to the information from the aforementioned media outlet, the establishment did not even have installed.
The National Police Homicide Squad conducted a thorough search of the centre over 48 hours. During this operation, biological evidence was collected from the scene and technological devices belonging to the deceased were seized for subsequent forensic examination.
Sources from the judicial sphere have warned that officers are not limiting themselves solely to the alleged killer's account and are exploring other lines of investigation. Given that the case file is under court secrecy, details of the inquiries remain confidential.
The deceased victim, a 32-year-old man named Vicent, worked at the Diálogo clinic. Colleagues and users of the centre have come to his defence, questioning the parent's version and recalling his professional dedication. Several people who had received his services have expressed their distress, emphasising the commitment to service he always demonstrated.
