A property developer was urgently transferred to a medical centre in As Pontes de García Rodríguez after suffering an assault with a bladed weapon. The incident occurred when he was attempting to restore legitimacy to an apartment he owned that had been taken without consent.
The event took place on the previous Friday at 17:00 hours in the Rego do Muiño area. The property developer owns several properties in the area, including a complete apartment block and an adjacent building, which he manages as rental properties. He went to the location with an electricity professional to dismantle a fraudulent installation that had allowed the intruder to have power without a contract.
According to the victim's account, the occupant reacted with hostility and stabbed him in the arm. Medical staff at the local health centre assessed the injury as serious and provided immediate care. Subsequently, the injured party filed a formal complaint with the Civil Guard.
Despite the altercation, the individual did not desist from his criminal behaviour. Information from the investigation indicates that he re-established a new illegal connection to continue using the service without paying for it. On Wednesday, he was summoned to the Civil Guard post to give a statement. The officers subsequently referred him to the competent judicial body.
The residents' association of Rego do Muiño has expressed its concern. Some residents claim that the person under investigation had previously made threats and that the atmosphere of unease is discouraging other affected parties from reporting out of fear of retaliation.
