Two youth players at Spanish second-division club Real Mallorca have been arrested on Mallorca by the "Policía Nacional". According to BILD, they are accused of secretly filming sexual intercourse with a minor without her consent. Authorities are investigating on suspicion of corruption of minors.
The alleged incident occurred on 14 August in a flat in Palma where several young people connected to the club live. The newspaper "Última Hora" first reported the matter; news agency EFE confirmed the details citing investigative sources.
The young woman affected, who was older than 16 years but still a minor, had voluntarily decided to withdraw into a room with one of the players. During sexual intercourse, she noticed that another young man was hidden in a wardrobe and was recording the situation without her knowledge. She subsequently filed a report with the national police.
One of the two arrested individuals is himself a minor; his case has been forwarded to the juvenile state prosecutor. The adult teammate was brought before the duty judge on Thursday, which ordered his release.
Real Mallorca responded immediately: the club suspended both youth players from the squad.
