Six Valladolid ultras arrested over stone-throwing brawl following Zaragoza match
The National Police arrested six young people, two of them minors, for their involvement in a tumultuous brawl following the Liga Hypermotion match on 9 May at the José Zorrilla stadium.

The National Police detained on Thursday and Friday in Valladolid six radical young people linked to Real Valladolid—two of them minors—for their involvement in a stone-throwing fight against supporters of Real Zaragoza recorded on Saturday 9 May. According to ABC, the arrests took place on the eve of another football match classified as high-risk.
The incidents took place at the end of the Liga Hypermotion match played at the José Zorrilla stadium between Real Valladolid and Real Zaragoza. That match had been declared high-risk by the Anti-Violence Commission, which led to the deployment of a reinforced security operation.
After the match ended, during the evacuation of the stadium, a confrontation erupted in the surrounding area, facing the zone where vehicles of the Police Intervention Unit were parked. The brawl involved radicals from Valladolid and their Zaragoza counterparts, the group known as 'Ligallos'. Agents from the Police Intervention Unit and the Prevention and Response Unit intervened immediately and dispersed both groups, "putting both sides to flight at a run", according to the police statement.
Thanks to public collaboration, several of those involved were identified in the vicinity of the stadium. All of them were informed that they would be referred for sanctions in accordance with Law 19/2007 against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport, which may result in a severe fine or a ban from entering sports facilities.
Among the victims was a minor who was with her father and who had no connection to the disturbances: she was struck by a stone on the calf of her left leg. She received treatment at the scene by medical personnel and was subsequently transferred to Río Hortega University Hospital. Two National Police officers who intervened in breaking up the brawl also required medical attention for trauma and blows of various kinds.
The following day, the driver of a car that had been parked on Avenida Mundial, at number 82, filed a complaint at police headquarters. The stone throws had broken the front windscreen and caused dents to the roof, rear door and rear bumpers, though the extent of the damage could not be determined at that moment.
The detention of the six young people was carried out by agents of the Provincial Information Brigade. After making statements at police headquarters, all were released with the obligation to appear before the judge when required. The National Police stated that it is already working on monitoring and intervention to prevent possible disturbances at the next match and emphasised that this profile of radical fan "has no place in sport and today's society".
