A man was injured by gunfire on Thursday afternoon in the Blas Infante neighbourhood of Barbate, in the province of Cádiz. According to sources from the Civil Guard confirmed to ABC, the victim received at least two bullet impacts during a fight.
The injured man was taken to a hospital. Other sources indicated that his condition does not, in principle, pose a risk to his life, although at present further details about his identity remain unknown.
Officers from the Barbate station activated an operation following the incident and managed to locate the suspected perpetrator. At the time of arrest, the suspect was carrying a loaded firearm. He is being charged with attempted murder.
The incident occurs five days after the shooting recorded in the Rocío neighbourhood of Isla Cristina, in Huelva, where three people died: a minor aged 16, a pregnant woman aged 39—eight months pregnant—and her mother, aged 62. That incident took place in the context of a dispute between gangs linked to drug trafficking.
