A total of thirteen individuals have been arrested in Fuente de Piedra, a municipality in the province of Málaga, following an investigation into illegal drug trafficking. The Guardia Civil dismantled a gang that marketed narcotics from various houses in the town.
The investigation, named 'Patinete', extended over several months. Officers became aware that a group was distributing substances to residents of the area and nearby towns. Buyers frequently travelled to the properties used as distribution centres, according to information provided by the armed police force.
One of the most serious aspects is that the alleged leaders are believed to have recruited one of their own children, a twelve-year-old boy, to deliver doses to customers in public spaces. The adults are believed to have arranged the operations in advance with consumers.
During the course of the investigation, officers also discovered a theft from an agricultural property. Tools such as chainsaws, strimmers, generators, screwdrivers and pump motors had been taken from there. Part of this haul was recovered when one of those involved attempted to sell it.
After obtaining the appropriate court order, five home searches were carried out in Fuente de Piedra. Seven hundred and fifty grams of cocaine, one hundred and ninety grams of heroin, one hundred and seventy grams of material for cutting drugs, fourteen thousand euros in cash and three cars used by the organisation were seized.
The thirteen arrested individuals were brought before the court, accused of crimes against public health, burglary, membership of a criminal group and obstruction of justice. Eleven of them were remanded in custody by order of the judge.
