Three arrests for gender-based violence in Tudela within 72 hours

Google News ES — Crime (es) reports that Tudela Local Police detained three men for alleged assaults on women over the past weekend at different locations in the Navarran city.

The first of the cases took place in the early hours of Sunday, near Barrio Avenue, at around 1.00 a.m. A 56-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his 46-year-old wife in the presence of their two minor children. The victim was transferred to the Emergency Department and later returned home; the detainee was taken to Foral Police facilities.

The second incident occurred on Friday afternoon. An agent from the VioGén unit of the Local Police detected that a man was breaching a protective restraining order in effect against a victim under the unit's monitoring. The woman informed the officer of what had occurred, and uniformed officers went to a bar terrace where the man "had come to hurl insults" at her. Once the restraining order was verified, he was arrested and transferred to Foral Police cells pending judicial review.

The third case occurred in the early hours of Saturday, near the bullring plaza. Officers heard "screams and sobs of a young woman from inside the dwelling". The 25-year-old woman recounted a "violent episode" at the hands of her partner, aged 30, with whom she had been in a relationship for a month and a half. She was treated at a health centre and returned home, whilst the alleged perpetrator was arrested and likewise transferred to Foral Police cells awaiting appearance before the judicial authorities.
