Three men reported for selling illegal vaporisers in Cuenca
The Guardia Civil in Cuenca identified three males aged between 46 and 49 after inspecting establishments selling vaping devices without complying with health and customs regulations.
Inspections in Cuenca uncover illegal sale of vaporisers and loose tobacco
The Fiscal and Border Unit of the Guardia Civil Command in Cuenca conducted a series of inspections in establishments in the city centre to verify that the vaporisers marketed complied with current health and customs regulations. According to ABC, the result was the identification and reporting of three males aged between 46 and 49 years for breaches of health regulations and smuggling.
During the operations, officers seized various smoke-releasing devices that did not meet the legal requirements established. The products were removed from circulation for breaches relating to, among other aspects, the labelling required by regulations.
Inspectors also detected the sale of cigarettes in individual units and the absence of the authorisation that the Tobacco Commissioner requires for the marketing of these products.
The Guardia Civil warned in a press release that irregular sales of this type of item represent a risk to public health, with particular impact on minors. The armed institute indicated that it would continue to conduct checks to prevent illegal marketing of tobacco-related products and ensure compliance with health, tax and customs regulations.
