Local police arrested a man who struck an officer whilst removing his vehicle following a collision with four parked cars.

Officers from the municipal police force in the capital of Cuenca arrested a motorist who struck one of its members. The incident occurred when the officers were in the process of towing his vehicle, which minutes earlier had collided with several cars parked on Jorge Torner Street.
According to ABC, the accident happened at approximately three-fifteen in the morning. The individual involved lost control of his vehicle and ended up crashing into four motor vehicles that were parked at the side of the road.
Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving his car abandoned. When a patrol unit and the municipal tow truck arrived to remove the damaged vehicle, the owner returned and attempted to obstruct the operation.
Sources from the police force indicate that the individual adopted an extremely hostile demeanour towards the officers, going so far as to physically assault one of them. He was arrested on the spot.
Local police continue their investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident and determine the corresponding criminal responsibilities.
