Electric scooter rider three times over the limit with alcohol level seven times the legal threshold in Granada
A man was arrested in Granada with 1.78 mg/l of alcohol, seven times the legal limit, after running a red traffic light on an electric scooter.

An electric scooter rider registered a blood alcohol level of 1.78 milligrammes per litre of breath during a police check in Granada, according to information provided by the Local Police. The legal limit allowed is 0.25 milligrammes per litre, which means that the offender exceeded the maximum permitted level by seven times.
The incident occurred last Tuesday. Officers intercepted the man after he had run a red traffic light. Following an alcohol test, the result showed 1.78. The scooter was immobilised immediately.
The Local Police imposed two sanctions on the rider: a fine of €1,000 for riding whilst intoxicated and another fine of €500 for failing to respect the red traffic light, bringing the total to €1,500.
According to ABC, this case is not the only serious incident involving personal mobility vehicles recorded in recent days in the Granada capital. The Local Police also reported another scooter rider intercepted by officers with four simultaneous infringements: he was riding with headphones on, was carrying an additional passenger in the vehicle, the scooter was not registered and had no insurance. The four infringements combined resulted in fines totalling €800 for that offender.
