A 37-year-old resident has been admitted to Villarrobledo Hospital following an attack with a sharp object on a street in Las Pedroñeras (Cuenca). The victim presented herself at the town's medical surgery shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday with cuts to the face and one of her legs.
According to the victim's account to the medical staff, the injuries were sustained during a violent incident in a public space. After initial treatment at the health centre, an emergency unit took her to the hospital in the Albacete locality.
Sources from the regional government have confirmed that the patient remains under medical observation due to the severity of one of the wounds. Early indications suggest that the attacker and the victim did not know each other beforehand.
The Civil Guard has taken over the investigation of the incident.
