A young Irish woman has been fined 2,700 euros and ordered to pay 500 euros in compensation to a Swedish tourist whom she touched on the genitals without consent in the spa of a Magalluf hotel.

A young Irish woman has been convicted of sexual assault after touching the genitals of a Swedish tourist in the spa of a hotel establishment in Magalluf. The Provincial Court of Palma has imposed a fine of 2,700 euros and ordered her to pay the victim 500 euros in compensation for moral damage suffered.
The incident occurred on 4 June 2025. The victim, a Swedish national, was enjoying the facilities of the spa when the accused approached him and started a conversation. Later, both found themselves together again in the Turkish bath of the complex.
It was in this second encounter that the woman approached the young man and touched his genital area over his clothing without his permission. The affected party expressed his rejection and subsequently reported the facts to the Local Police of Calvià.
Officers located the suspect at the same hotel shortly afterwards and proceeded with her arrest. The Public Prosecutor's Office initially requested a prison sentence of one and a half years, but before trial an agreement was reached. The prosecution reduced the criminal charge to a less serious category in exchange for the defendant's admission of the facts.
In addition to the financial penalty, the sentence imposes on the convicted woman a prohibition from contacting or approaching the victim for two years.
