According to Google News ES — Crime (es), the National Police has closed and boarded up a property in the vicinity of Rúa Aragón in Vigo after determining it was being used as a retail point for the sale of controlled substances.

The intervention took place on the 27th, when agents from the Drugs and Organised Crime Unit (UDYCO) at Vigo Police Station searched the dwelling. During the search they detained a man and seized various controlled substances, cash and equipment intended for the preparation and handling of drugs.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the courts. The judge at the Trial Court, Instruction Section Plaza Dos de Vigo, ordered his imprisonment and also agreed to the closure and boarding up of the property to prevent it from continuing to be used for drug sales.

The day after the search, once proceedings were concluded, officers from UDYCO and the Operative Group for Prevention and Deterrence (GOPD) returned to the property to execute the court order. The dwelling was definitively sealed and boarded up.

The measure is not without precedent in the city. In April, the same judge ordered identical action on another dwelling located near Plaza de A Miñoca, also as part of an investigation into drug trafficking. In that case, the closure and boarding up was likewise executed following police operations.
