Trappes attack: suspect arrested three days earlier for racist violence
Kévin T., perpetrator of the attack on 23 October in Trappes, had been arrested three days previously for assaulting a black motorist at a petrol station.

Violence and attack: a suspect with immediate prior offences
According to Le Nouvel Obs, Kévin T., aged 39, had been arrested on 20 October in Levallois-Perret by municipal police officers. He is accused of spraying and hitting a black motorist during an altercation at a petrol station. Mediapart revealed these facts, confirmed by Nanterre's public prosecutor's office.
The prosecutor's office characterises the incident as a "dispute between motorists". However, according to a source close to the case, Kévin T. was at the location as part of his work. He had been employed on a permanent contract for five years by a company specialising in petrol station maintenance.
Following these acts of violence, his employer initiated dismissal proceedings. Counter-terrorism prosecutor Olivier Christen asserts that T. had been developing his murderous plan for several weeks already. The altercation on 20 October occurred three days before the terrorist attack on 23 October in Trappes.
