A 51-year-old banker has been sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment in France for raping, torturing and prostituting his 42-year-old partner over seven years, exposing her to nearly 500 men.

A 51-year-old French banker has been sentenced to 25 years' criminal imprisonment for subjecting his partner to sexual and physical violence over seven consecutive years.
The court found Guillaume Butsy guilty of rape, torture and aggravated procuring against his 42-year-old partner, named Laetitia. The man allegedly forced her into sexual relations with approximately 500 individuals, including friends, colleagues and strangers, whilst filming her without consent.
The court also imposed an additional sentence of ten years of socio-judicial monitoring with a requirement for treatment. A permanent ban on exercising any professional activity involving contact with minors was imposed on the convicted man.
During the investigation, the victim stated that she had stopped counting her attackers after the 487th. She recounted being bound, beaten and raped on multiple occasions, suffering physical and psychological abuse throughout the duration of their relationship.
The case was described by French media as a new "Pelicot affair", in reference to the trial of Gisèle Pelicot, which had previously shocked public opinion. In that case, the courts had convicted dozens of men for raping a woman who had been drugged by her husband.
The accused was tried before the assize court of Doubs, in eastern France.
