The Nanterre prosecutor's office, in the Paris suburbs, has requested that French singer and actor Patrick Bruel be sent to criminal court and held in custody pending trial. The 67-year-old artist is facing accusations of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment.
Nine victims are named in the case file, according to news agency AFP. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between 2010 and 2019.
Patrick Bruel denies all the accusations made against him.
Shortly before his questioning, the artist had cancelled several major concerts scheduled in Paris.
Earlier in the year, eight women had already made accusations against him in the pages of investigative media outlet Mediapart.
