Aigio double murder: Fresh development as neighbour who repaired gun comes under scrutiny
The investigation into the murder of a 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son in Longos, Aigio, is continuing with new information emerging from the testimony of a neighbour of the main suspect.
The witness, according to reports, had brought an air rifle of the flobert type to the area in order to repair it following a request from the 65-year-old Italian. This exact weapon was later used to take the life of the young victim.
After the repair, the Italian is alleged to have asked his acquaintance whether the specific weapon was capable of killing. The answer he received was affirmative. If this detail is confirmed, it strengthens the theory of a premeditated crime.
It was this same person who first called the relevant authorities on the morning of 9 June 2026 after discovering the bodies. The suspected perpetrator had contacted him by phone requesting him to go immediately to the location.
In his initial statement, the witness described in detail the events from the telephone call through to his arrival at the crime scene. However, certain points of his account require further verification.
Laboratory results for genetic material and blood traces found on the 65-year-old's underwear are expected soon. The man denies the charges.
