The HBF's board held two emergency sessions on Wednesday following the execution of six arrest warrants, including one against president Vangelis Liolios.

Emergency HBF meeting after six arrest warrants – Liolios in the spotlight
The board of directors of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (HBF) convened for a second emergency session on Wednesday evening, 21 October, to reassess the new developments that emerged following the execution of arrest warrants in the bribery case that is shaking Greek basketball, according to To Vima.
The first session of the day had been held earlier, with the agenda centred on updating board members about the legal proceedings that are underway. At the centre were six arrest warrants – among them one targeting the Federation's president, Vangelis Liolios.
Following the first meeting, the HBF issued a statement in which it noted that the board had been informed of the legal proceedings and that the Federation would monitor the development of the case through official announcements and prescribed procedures.
After the execution of all six warrants, members of management were called upon to reassess the situation and its possible consequences for the Federation. A new official statement from the HBF cannot be ruled out, as the case is causing considerable turmoil in the Greek basketball sector.
