A 21-year-old from Paros is being treated in critical condition, intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of Tzaneio Hospital in Piraeus, according to In.gr. The young woman was transferred in the early morning hours in a comatose state, initially to a health centre and then to Tzaneio Hospital.
The hospital's doctors are making intensive efforts to save her life. The possibility is being examined that the 21-year-old had taken a narcotic substance that caused her to fall into a coma.
The president of POEDEN, Michalis Giannakos, stated that "it is suspected that she took date rape pills", adding that "her boyfriend was arrested in Paros and is being questioned".
As part of the investigation into the circumstances of the incident, police are examining the young woman's boyfriend as well as another couple who were present, in order to clarify exactly what happened.
