Violent clash in Zagreb: four in custody following brawl and deliberate car collision
Police in the capital have apprehended four persons after a fierce altercation took place on Monday afternoon at a car park of a shopping centre on Radnička Street. Criminal prosecution has been sought against the arrested individuals.
The incident began with a prearranged meeting on the first day of June. A 41-year-old man and his 21-year-old relative came to the scene to resolve previous disputes. According to the police report, the older of the two first threatened the younger one with death using words and then with a metal object, causing the younger man to fear for his own life.
The situation escalated when another teenager and a minor arrived at the car park. They attacked the twenty-one-year-old whilst the 41-year-old, according to investigators' suspicions, held him by the arms so the other two could prevent him from defending himself. The youth sustained blows to the head and torso and was knocked down to the ground in view of passers-by.
Shortly afterwards, the victim's 24-year-old relative arrived at the scene. According to police, he got into a Peugeot car with registration plates from Sisak and deliberately struck the side of another vehicle, a Ford with Zagreb number plates. Inside that car were a 19-year-old and a 37-year-old woman.
After investigators concluded their investigation, a report was submitted to the state prosecutor's office. Two adult men and one minor will answer for disorderly conduct, whilst the older of them is also charged with threats. The fourth suspect, a 24-year-old, has been reported for dangerous conduct that endangered the lives of two persons. All four ended up in custody under the supervision of a custody officer.
