Operation "Victorious" in Lavagna
A 24-year-old from Lavagna has been arrested by the Chiavari Guardia di Finanza on suspicion of drug trafficking and unlawful possession of weapons, according to reports from primocanale.it. The operation, named "Victorious" and coordinated by the provincial command in Genoa, began following reports of suspicious comings and goings of people at the man's home in the Tigullio area.
The finance police conducted surveillance and tracking operations, documenting drug sales to local consumers. During a search of the home, they found over 2.7 kilograms of narcotics, almost 10,000 euros in cash, precision scales and packaging materials. The total amount of drugs seized could have fetched over 36,000 euros on the market.
The arsenal discovered comprised three pistols — two revolvers reported stolen and a gas pistol without identification marks — three machetes with blades up to 28 centimetres and 166 cartridges, some of military use. The duty magistrate at the Genoa Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the arrested man transferred to Genoa Marassi prison.
During the operation, the officers also reported four residents to the Genoa Prefect's Office as drug consumers, with administrative seizure of the quantities they had purchased.
