Anti-drug operation in south-west district
According to rainews.it, police have dismantled a criminal organisation operating at Laurentino 38, in the south-west suburbs of Rome. The investigation, which began in September 2024, has resulted in six arrests and four precautionary measures: three people have been remanded in custody, one has been placed under house arrest.
Organisation of the operation
The head of the organisation is under serious suspicion of extortion, drug trafficking and unlawful possession of weapons. He coordinated remotely the packaging and distribution of doses via encrypted messaging platforms, assigning specific quantities to individual dealers. The drugs, partly imported from abroad, were sent in parcels concealed among linen and addressed to third parties, who received one thousand euros for collection.
Other suspects
A woman who was arrested is accused of attempted extortion and aggravated assault. The other defendants are charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. A further suspect was caught red-handed with doses of cocaine ready for retail sale. The operation is coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office.
