Beatrice killing: mother denies charges: "I never hit my daughter"
The guarantee hearing of Manuela Aiello, the woman accused of having contributed to the death of her daughter Beatrice, a child of just two years old, concluded at around 14:00. The hearing took place at the court in Imperia.
According to the prosecution, the child died as a result of beatings inflicted by her mother and her partner, Emanuel Iannuzzi. Both are under investigation for murder.
Upon leaving the courtroom, the woman's defence lawyers, Bruno Di Giovanni and Laura Corbetta, made statements to the press. Their client "never hit her daughter, nor did she witness violence committed against her", the lawyers stated, rejecting every charge against the woman.
