A 59-year-old man lost his life in Porcia, in the province of Pordenone, whilst attempting to protect his daughter. The victim is Marius Adrian Dorobantu, whilst the suspect is Fabrizio Barberini, 50 years old, the ex-partner of the girl, arrested on suspicion of homicide.

The autopsy examination, conducted by pathologist Antonello Cirnelli, revealed that Dorobantu was struck multiple times with extreme violence to the head and face. The assailant allegedly also attempted to suffocate the victim by obstructing his nasal and oral airways. Initially the 59-year-old apparently managed to break free and flee for a few metres, but he was reached again and struck on the head.

Death apparently occurred moments later, near the house driveway, as a result of the injuries sustained during the assault. The examination was attended by scientific police personnel, lawyers for the parties and technical consultants.
