A bloody brawl broke out on Tuesday at approximately 22:15 in the Limpertsberg district of Luxembourg city, near Allée Scheffer and the Glacis where the City Sounds festival was taking place as part of National Day celebrations. Two individuals were wounded with a blade, according to a police statement made during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.

One of the two wounded was struck in the neck and has injuries that are life-threatening. The second suffered less serious cuts. Emergency services attended to the victims on site before evacuating them to a hospital.

According to an initial report from L'essentiel, the scene was chaotic. Several men apparently engaged in a fight on the margins of the event. Security personnel intervened. Shortly afterwards, a man was discovered lying on the ground with a knife embedded in his neck. Paramedics immediately began resuscitation procedures before transporting the wounded person.

Law enforcement arrested two suspects at the scene. The identity of the alleged assailants and the motive for the attack were not initially disclosed. The exact circumstances that led to the altercation remain to be clarified.

The public prosecutor's office was notified and opened an investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses, inviting anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on the emergency number 113.
