The widow of a prison guard killed during Mohamed Amra's escape has filed a complaint against polemicist Jean Messiha, accusing him of misappropriating the funds that were collected.

According to Google News LU FR, the widow of Arnaud Garcia — one of the prison guards killed during the spectacular escape of inmate Mohamed Amra — has filed a complaint against Jean Messiha, a figure of the French far right, over a solidarity fundraiser launched following the tragedy.
"I am angry!", she declared, according to media outlet Actu.fr. The complainant accuses Messiha of having misappropriated the funds intended for the families of the slain guards.
Facing the accusations, Jean Messiha announced the full restitution of the funds to the widows of the two deceased guards, after being publicly implicated. The polemicist advanced several arguments to exonerate himself from any wrongdoing, arguments which the newspaper Libération considers unconvincing.
The widows, for their part, confirmed having recovered the money from the fundraiser, but clarified that they were not withdrawing their complaints regardless. "We are not withdrawing our complaints," they stated, according to Ouest-France.

Mohamed Amra's escape, in May 2024, had cost the lives of two members of prison personnel during an armed attack on their convoy in the Eure. The fundraisers launched in the aftermath had raised tens of thousands of euros.
