Luxembourg authorities have recovered an individual arrested in Serbia, linked to a series of residential thefts on Grand Duchy territory between 2019 and 2022.
Luxembourg: Man Extradited from Serbia in Multiple Burglary Case
Law enforcement in the Grand Duchy obtained the extradition of a man apprehended by Serbia. He is accused of belonging to a criminal network from the Balkans that committed numerous burglaries on Luxembourg soil during the 2019-2022 period.
The investigation mobilised the Grand Duchy police over several years. Thanks to cross-border cooperation, investigators were able to identify this individual, who was on Serbian territory. Legal proceedings resulted in his transfer to Luxembourg.
Once there, he was brought before an investigating magistrate. The latter decided to place him in pre-trial detention by an arrest warrant. The case is now being handled by the section responsible for combating serious organised crime within the judicial police, under the supervision of the competent investigating judge.
