A judicial matter stemming from a police operation on 12 November 2025 concluded with convictions on 23 March, according to Outre-mer La 1ère.
On that day, officers from the RAID and the Territorial Criminal Investigation Service, supported by other units, conducted a raid on a house in the Terres-Sainville neighbourhood. They discovered a stockpile of weapons, balaclavas and approximately five kilos of illicit substances.
Three suspects were identified: a Franco-Dominican aged 34, a Venezuelan of the same age and a Dominican aged 38. The first two had previously been convicted.
During the hearing, the defence lawyers contested the regularity of the procedure, arguing that certain provisions of the criminal procedure code had not been observed. The statements of the accused differed during the proceedings, with one of them choosing to remain silent.
The prosecution sought sanctions ranging from one and a half to five years' imprisonment. The magistrates ultimately imposed four years' imprisonment with no remission for the Franco-Dominican and the Venezuelan. The third received two years, half of which was suspended, along with electronic monitoring. His lawyer expressed satisfaction that his client would be able to return home. The lawyers for the other two indicated they did not intend to appeal to the Court of Cassation.
