23 charged with drug dealing after Innlandet investigation – one arrested in Trondheim
23 people have been charged following police's dismantling of a criminal network that is believed to have dealt in over one tonne of narcotics. A man in his 30s was arrested in Trondheim.
Criminal network dismantled following investigation since 2024
Innlandet police district has since 2024 been investigating a criminal network that over several years is believed to have been responsible for organised importation and sale of narcotics in significant quantities, adressa.no reports. The investigation has revealed that the network is believed to have dealt in over one tonne of narcotics.
– There are 23 charged in the case today. 22 have been arrested, and one person is internationally wanted. One is held in custody, says police prosecutor Christine Lundstein.
The case began in 2024 with the arrest of five people in Kongsvinger. The investigation then led to a further 15 people being arrested.
Among those charged is a man in his 30s, a Norwegian citizen, who was arrested in Trondheim. He is charged with serious drug offences under section 232, subsection 2 of the Criminal Code.
The man's defence counsel, lawyer Øzkan Alkan, states that his client does not admit guilt.
– Beyond that, it is not desirable to comment further on the case at the present time, Alkan writes in a message to Adresseavisen.
22 of those charged are men, one is a woman. Those arrested have been brought in from Kongsvinger, Oslo, Romerike, Fredrikstad, Porsgrunn, Stavanger and Spain, in addition to Trondheim.
