Man arrested for carrying knife at Bekkestua

A man in his twenties was brought in by police on Sunday evening following an incident at Bekkestua bus station, writes budstikka.no. The man is said to have displayed a knife and, according to police, shown alarming behaviour towards those present.

Operations leader Øyvind Hammervold stated in the police log that police had the man under control at 20.57. "There is currently nothing to suggest that anyone has suffered physical injury," the report stated.

According to a witness whom budstikka.no was in contact with, the man appeared intoxicated and behaved aggressively.

Incident commander Halvard Svanes reported approximately 20 minutes later that the man was taken in and charged with disturbing the peace and carrying a knife in a public place. Svanes told budstikka.no that a scout knife and what he describes as a folding saw were found during a search.
