Man seriously injured after assault in Porsgrunn town centre
A man was seriously injured during the night after a brawl in Porsgrunn town centre. Police are investigating the incident as a serious assault.
Man airlifted to Ullevål after assault in Porsgrunn
NRK Norge reports that police responded to Porsgrunn town centre during the night after what was initially reported as a fall accident, but turned out to be an assault.
A man was seriously injured after a person struck him, causing him to fall. He was initially transported to the local hospital by ambulance, but was later airlifted to Ullevål Hospital in Oslo.
– There has been an assault episode where at least one blow caused the victim to fall, said operations manager Roger Aaser at 09.40.
Aaser stated that police had not yet received feedback from the hospital about the man's condition. What led to the incident was not known at that time.
– We are working to apprehend the perpetrator, said Aaser.
Several witnesses were present at the scene and have been questioned by police. Investigators also wish to secure possible video surveillance from the area.
