On Thursday evening at 21.42, police responded to the Joker store in Parkveien in Bodø following a report of a robbery, according to helg.no.
A person wearing a hood and mask is reported by police to have threatened employees with a gun. The perpetrator left the store without taking anything of value.
Police describe the perpetrator as wearing a dark – possibly green – hooded sweatshirt, grey-fitting jogging trousers and dark gloves. The person is described as a teenager or in their early twenties. Police are appealing to members of the public with information to call 02800.
At midnight, police tweeted that the store had been subjected to a robbery. The incident commander at the scene was unwilling to comment on the reason for the emergency response on Thursday evening and referred to the police operations centre, which the newspaper attempted unsuccessfully to reach.
On Friday morning at 06.00, operations manager Kenneth Magnussen at Nordland police stated that no one had yet been arrested.
– We are continuing with our investigative leads. If anyone saw anything during the relevant time period, we ask them to contact police, says Magnussen.
Magnussen also stated that the employee who was working during the robbery attempt was subsequently looked after by colleagues.
The store's owner, Iramghan Allahi Malik, was in Oslo at the time and declined to comment on the incident.
– I do not wish to comment on the situation at this time, Malik told helg.no shortly before 23.00 on Thursday evening.
Police continued their investigation at the crime scene and conducted interviews with the staff overnight.
