A 41-year-old man attacked a 55-year-old woman by kicking her in the head at one of the railway stations in Łódź. Due to his return to crime and the hooliganism involved, he faces enhanced sentencing.

On 22 May, before seven in the morning, a brutal assault took place at one of the railway stations in Łódź. A 55-year-old woman had just disembarked from a train and was heading towards the tram terminus. At one point she stumbled and accidentally touched a passerby. The man accompanying that person could not restrain himself — he delivered a powerful kick to her head. The blow was so forceful that the woman fell down the stairs.
The duty officer at the Łódź police headquarters received the report and dispatched a patrol to the scene. Officers found only a witness there, as the victim had been taken to a medical facility and the perpetrator had fled.
The investigation was taken over by officers from the Bałuty police station. They managed to gather evidence and establish who carried out the assault. On 9 June, early in the morning, detectives apprehended the 41-year-old man.
The detained man was charged with violation of bodily integrity resulting in detriment to health. The case is being handled by the Łódź-Bałuty District Prosecutor's Office. The perpetrator has prior convictions on record, which means he acted as a repeat offender. Furthermore, the act was classified as hooliganism, which entails more severe criminal liability for him.
