The director of the CBA announced the immediate dismissal from service of an officer to whom the prosecution had brought charges in an investigation concerning the Pegasus surveillance system.

The head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau announced on Friday the dismissal of one of the office's employees. The decision came after the prosecution brought charges against her as part of an investigation into the illegal use of the Pegasus spy system.
Tomasz Strzelczyk conveyed the information via the X platform. In his post, he emphasised that his priority is conducting CBA activities in strict compliance with applicable regulations. He noted that the office operates under the principle of equality before the law – regardless of position or rank.
The director of the office also informed of ongoing cooperation with law enforcement authorities. He indicated that this applies to the proceedings concerning the acquisition and use of the Pegasus system. The prosecution brought charges after two years of investigation. As a result, the employment relationship with the detained officer was terminated immediately.
Strzelczyk declared that any violations of internal procedures or legal provisions will be met with swift and decisive action by management. He also accepted full responsibility for the office's current personnel policy.
Rzecznik Prokuratury Krajowej, prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, informed on Friday of further accused individuals in the same investigation, which has been ongoing since April 2024. Charges concerning abuse of authority, filing false statements and extortion of confirmation of false information were brought against: former director of the Warsaw branch of the CBA Jarosław W., former head of the operational and investigative department Katarzyna S. and expert Angela P.
Investigators established that the accused acted in concert in committing two prohibited acts. Prosecutor Nowak explained that the new charges against two former employees supplement those brought against them in June 2025.
