Police officers from Andrespol detained four men during a night-time road check. Officers found over 200 grammes of mephedrone in the car and on two of the passengers. It also transpired that one of the travellers was wanted by arrest warrants.

The detention took place on Thursday, 28 May just after midnight. Officers patrolling the vicinity of Andrespol noticed a Volkswagen being driven by four men. The driver's behaviour seemed suspicious to them – he first indicated to turn right, then left, and ultimately drove straight ahead. The passengers in the rear seats were nervously looking around behind them.

According to TVP3 Łódź, during the intervention all four men behaved anxiously. Officers searched the vehicle and found a significant quantity of mephedrone on two of the passengers – a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old.

The 23-year-old attempted to flee from the checkpoint. He had the drugs hidden in his underwear. Meanwhile, the 47-year-old passenger gave police officers false information – he introduced himself as his brother. It quickly emerged that the man was wanted by as many as three arrest warrants and two orders from the District Court in Kartuzy.

In total, officers secured over 200 grammes of narcotics. Two young men – the 20-year-old and the 23-year-old – were charged with possessing significant quantities of drugs. This offence carries a sentence of up to 10 years' imprisonment.
