A thirty-one-year-old doctor from Łódź has been charged with multiple criminal offences, including falsifying prescriptions, obtaining money from the National Health Fund and possession of prohibited substances. The court ordered his detention for three months.

A thirty-one-year-old doctor has come under the control of the prosecutor's office and court in Łódź. He has been detained for a period of three months after investigators presented him with six criminal charges.
Between April and August of last year, the man allegedly completed seventeen prescription documents with false information. These concerned medications Oxydolor and Clonazepanum, which subsequently reached the illegal market.
In subsequent months, from January to February of this year, the suspect allegedly issued fifty-three prescriptions without carrying out any medical examinations. According to the accumulated evidence, he obtained pharmaceuticals – including morphine-containing preparations – by using the identity of other persons. The state treasury lost approximately twenty-seven and a half thousand złoty in reimbursement in this manner.
In April of last year, the doctor allegedly also wrote four prescriptions for Trittico and other medications without examining the patients. The charge also includes illegally providing a psychotropic substance in order to obtain financial gain.
Four further prescription documents, issued from September to December in his own name, were allegedly resold to a minor person for six hundred złoty. These pharmaceuticals were subsequently used contrary to their intended purpose.
Investigators are also charging him with storing large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances, including preparations containing amphetamine and heroin.
The final charge concerns driving a car on 12 May of this year whilst under the influence of drugs. Officers revealed this during a road intervention.
The prosecutor's office requested detention on 14 May, citing the risk of flight, loss of evidence and the severity of the threatened penalty. The court granted this motion.
