In the municipality of Lubsko, a car recovered from theft abroad was retrieved. During the intervention, two men and a woman, who had narcotic substances in her possession, were detained.
Everything began on Sunday, 7 June. Senior Constable Łukasz Drewniak from the Police Station in Lubsko, whilst patrolling roads in the town of Lutol, spotted an unusual arrangement – a Volkswagen saloon was towing a Fiat Ducato on a tow rope. The officer considered this suspicious and stopped both vehicles.
During inspection, it turned out that the Fiat's security features had been damaged. The doors and ignition bore signs of interference, suggesting a break-in. Checking the registration numbers in the systems revealed a discrepancy between the licence plates and the vehicle's data. Moreover, the bus was listed as stolen – the report was filed in Germany.
In the vehicle and on the detainees, police found tools that could be used in crimes. Two men – a 35-year-old and a 51-year-old – were taken to the station in Żary. They were informed of suspicion of receiving stolen goods, for which the penal code provides a sentence of between three months and five years' imprisonment.
Also present at the scene was a 35-year-old woman. On her person, officers found heroin. She was charged with possession of narcotic substances, which carries a penalty of up to three years' imprisonment.
