In the early hours, shortly after 1:30 am on Saturday, a traffic police patrol stopped a Hyundai vehicle on Krakowska Street in Rzeszów. The young man driving it significantly exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area – instead of the permitted 50 km/h, he was driving at 112 km/h.

During the check, it emerged that the 21-year-old resident of Nisko was under the influence of alcohol. A breath test showed he had 1.14 promille. Officers confiscated his driving licence.

The man now faces charges of dangerous driving. He faces up to three years in prison and a substantial fine for this. He will also face penalties for excessive speeding.
