Police dismantle counterfeit toy warehouse in Warsaw
Officers from the economic crime division of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters conducted an inspection of two premises in Warsaw's Praga-Północ district. As a result of their actions, they seized hundreds of counterfeit toys and children's clothing.
In the first location, officers found a total of 1,164 items of goods, including plush toys, dolls, building block sets, toy vehicles, plastic articles and children's clothing. The value of the seized products exceeded one million zloty.
The second premises turned out to be a warehouse. Inside were more counterfeit children's articles. Officers seized a total of 663 toys and clothing items there.
Investigators established that the traders imported goods from abroad and sold them through online auction platforms and physical shops. The items did not have the required safety certificates and could pose a threat to children's health.
Police handed the case to the Customs and Tax Office. Introducing counterfeit goods into circulation carries a sentence of up to five years' imprisonment.
