Wiktor P., who on Friday fell into police custody as the third man responsible for a series of false bomb alarms, was not unknown to the authorities. Already last year, he put the Internal Security Agency (ABW) on alert by reporting an alleged plan for a bombing and placing an explosive device in a residential building – according to Onet's findings.
At that time, the authorities initiated proceedings against him in which he was charged with 12 counts. The man spent nearly half a year in custody, but in May of this year the court decided to release him. In its ruling, the court emphasised that his threats had a "fantastical nature" and were "detached from reality".
Nevertheless, Wiktor P. found himself once again at the centre of investigators' attention in connection with the wave of false bomb reports that shook Poland. On Friday he was detained and placed in police custody.
