Drugs on impregnated paper sent to prison: three arrested in Mehedinți

Sheets of paper with narcotic substances, smuggled into prison

A 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested on remand for 30 days, whilst a 21-year-old young woman has been placed under judicial supervision for 60 days, after all three were investigated for high-risk drug trafficking, according to radiooltenia.ro. According to investigators, the drugs were impregnated into sheets of paper and sent to persons held in detention.

The investigation was conducted by police officers from the Organised Crime Fighting Service in Mehedinți and Craiova, under the coordination of prosecutors from DIICOT – Mehedinți Territorial Office.

From the investigation it emerged that, during the period January–March 2026, the 33-year-old man — who was himself in detention — allegedly persuaded the 25-year-old woman, a member of the same family, to obtain and send sheets of paper impregnated with narcotic substances to prison, intended for sale amongst prisoners. At the same time, he allegedly provided another prisoner with a fragment of paper impregnated with psychoactive substances.

The 25-year-old woman allegedly later sold several sheets impregnated with the psychoactive substance 5F-ADB to the 21-year-old young woman, with the aim of sending them to another prisoner.

Following searches, investigators made unavailable sheets and envelopes impregnated with synthetic cannabinoids, namely MDMB-4en-PINACA and 5F-ADB.

The two main suspects were detained on 19 October, and the following day the Mehedinți Court ordered their preventive arrest for 30 days. DIICOT prosecutors imposed the measure of judicial supervision on the 21-year-old young woman for a period of 60 days.
