A 15-year-old pupil has been detained for 24 hours, by order, after attacking two classmates with a cutting and piercing implement at "Armand Călinescu" Technical College in Pitești on Thursday morning, announced ProTV News.
The County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Argeș reported that a criminal case has been opened concerning four offences: unlawful possession or use of dangerous objects, assault or other violence, property damage and disturbance of public order and peace.
"Following the presentation of evidence and the completion of procedural steps, the 15-year-old minor has been detained, by order, for 24 hours", stated in the information released by IPJ Argeș, cited by Agerpres.
The investigation continues under the supervision of the prosecutor in charge, to establish all the circumstances in which the acts were committed.
What happened at the school
According to preliminary checks carried out by police officers from Pitești District 1, the minor allegedly entered the secondary school with the cutting implement on his person, and in the context of a conflict caused a wound to a classmate's forearm and physically assaulted a second one. One of the injured pupils was taken to hospital for treatment.
Context: victim of bullying
The minor's family, a ninth-year pupil, claim that the boy was the target of attacks by classmates since the beginning of the school year. He was allegedly struck on the head, and other pupils allegedly used artificial intelligence to create doctored photographs of him, according to News.ro.
Judicial sources confirmed to News.ro that initial checks support the hypothesis that the minor was a victim of bullying. The same sources state that he tried to cope with the psychological attacks alone, without informing either his parents or teaching staff. At school he was perceived as a quiet pupil who had never caused any problems.
