A teenage girl is charged at Skaraborg District Court for making a false report and attempted extortion following a fabricated rape allegation.
Girl demanded 5,000 kronor to withdraw false report
Skaraborg News reports that a teenage girl is charged at Skaraborg District Court for making a false report and attempted extortion.
According to the statement of claim, the girl reported a man for a rape alleged to have occurred in April last year. On the same day the report was submitted, she sent a photograph to the man – an image that according to the charge purportedly showed the man's younger brother with a pistol and a knife.
Along with the image, she urged the complainant to transfer 5,000 kronor, in exchange for her removing both the report and the photographs.
In questioning by police, the girl stated that she had been forced to make the report, but that she did not want to disclose who had threatened her.
The girl acknowledges the sequence of events but neither admits nor denies the crimes.
