Fentanyl found in vehicle and residence after Pomeroy traffic stop
Meigs County Sheriff's Deputies arrested four people on drug-related felony charges following a traffic stop in Pomeroy, Ohio, on 23 October 2026, wsaz.com reports.
The stop took place at around 2:30 p.m. When the first vehicle pulled over at a residence, a deputy observed a man — identified as David T. Roush — exit a separate vehicle at the same location, climb onto the roof of the property, and enter through a broken window.
The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says the investigation established that fentanyl had been present in the vehicle that was initially stopped, as well as in Roush's possession. Roush allegedly told a deputy he had thrown suspected fentanyl under a bed inside the residence.
Occupants of the residence initially denied possessing any illegal narcotics. Deputies say the investigation nonetheless revealed that Joshua Jones, Jacob Bennett, and Jennifer Partlow had each attempted to conceal drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search warrant executed on the property uncovered suspected fentanyl in the residence and with multiple individuals.
Four people were charged as a result:
David T. Roush was charged with Possession of Drugs, Trafficking in Drugs, and Tampering with Evidence — all felonies of the third degree.
Jennifer Partlow was charged with Possession of Drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony.
Joshua Jones, of Pomeroy, Ohio, was charged with Possession of Drugs and Tampering with Evidence.
Jacob Bennett, of Mason, West Virginia, was charged with Possession of Drugs and Tampering with Evidence.
All four were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail following their arrests. The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says additional charges are possible, pending further investigation and review by the Meigs County Prosecutor's Office.
