Murder in Dlouhá Loučka: trial of eighteen-year-old to begin on 3 June in Olomouc
The Regional Court in Olomouc will begin proceedings on 3 June in the case of the murder of a 31-year-old man. The eighteen-year-old accused faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted.
Trial of youth accused of murder in Dlouhá Loučka begins in June
The Regional Court in Olomouc will begin proceedings on Wednesday, 3 June in the case of the murder of a thirty-one-year-old man from the village of Dlouhá Loučka in the Olomouc region. As reported by olomoucky.denik.cz, if convicted, the eighteen-year-old accused, M. V., faces up to seventeen years in prison.
The attack occurred in the night of Monday to Tuesday, 29 September of last year in an abandoned building on the edge of the village. Police found the man without signs of life and managed to track down the suspect within seven hours of finding the body.
The accused youth admitted to the act, and the motive was said to be previous disputes between him and the victim. "The young man decided to resolve them once and for all. In the night of Monday to Tuesday, 30 September, he took a knife and, with the intention of murdering the thirty-one-year-old man, drove to the abandoned building where the man was staying," said police spokesman Libor Hejtman.
The young man allegedly inflicted fatal stab wounds on the victim. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and the accused fled the building.
The Regional State Prosecution Office in Ostrava, Olomouc branch, filed charges against M. V. for the particularly serious crime of murder.
