Moravian-Silesian detectives have been investigating the violent death of a woman in an apartment building in central Havířov since Saturday. The suspected man was apprehended at the scene of the crime.

Moravian-Silesian detectives have been investigating the violent death of a woman in an apartment building in central Havířov since Saturday afternoon, according to karvinsky.denik.cz. Police arrived at the scene whilst the man was still physically attacking the woman and immediately apprehended him.
"The officers subdued and apprehended the man. At the same time they provided first aid to the injured woman, and later worked with healthcare professionals. Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries," said Soňa Štětínská of the Moravian-Silesian police.
According to Štětínská, the apprehended man and the deceased woman were neighbours. Police have not yet specified what criminal charge the man will face. Nor has it yet been decided whether a request will be submitted to remand the accused in custody.
"Moravian-Silesian regional detectives are working intensively on the case. Police crisis intervention officers are also at the scene," added the police officer.
