The National Police discovered the body of a man inside a refrigerator in a flat at Plaza Pintor Sorolla number 2 in Castellón de la Plana, according to Google News ES — Crime (es). The discovery was made on Tuesday during a search of the premises ordered following a report of alleged sexual assault.
The investigation began when the victim of the assault filed a report. Officers from the Provincial Police Station in Castellón attended the home of the suspected perpetrator with a judicial search warrant. The suspect was not present when police entered the property.
During the inspection of the flat, officers located the lifeless body concealed in the refrigerator. Authorities immediately activated an extensive operation to locate the man under investigation, who was at large.
The search concluded late that same night with the arrest of the suspect in Peñíscola. The National Police and Civil Guard are now working to identify the deceased person and determine their possible relationship with the detainee.
The Provincial Judicial Police Unit is leading the investigation, with support from officers of the Scientific Police. The investigation is ongoing whilst corresponding proceedings are carried out.
