Child's drawing guides Guardia Civil to attempted abduction suspect in Zaragoza

An eight-year-old girl provided the Guardia Civil with a drawing of the man who attempted to abduct her, enabling his identification and arrest within days, according to reports based on information from ABC.

The case dates back to mid-October, when the child, who was alone in the building where she lives in the city of Borja, in the Zaragoza region, was approached by a stranger. The man promised her sweets and grabbed her arm in an attempt to lead her to his home, within the same building. The girl resisted and managed to escape to her house.

Before leaving, the suspect also made a threat: if the child told her parents what had happened, he would return to try to abduct her again. The girl's father filed a complaint with the authorities shortly after learning of the incident.

In addition to the verbal account, the Spanish police also received a drawing made by the child herself. In the sketch, the girl reproduced in detail two scars of the suspect — one that crossed his eye and another on his neck — as well as tattoos she had identified on his arm. The portrait became a central piece of the investigation conducted by the Guardia Civil of Tarazona.

On 30 October, the authorities confirmed the arrest of a 48-year-old man on suspicion of having committed the attempted abduction. The quality and precision of the drawing produced by the child were decisive in his location and identification.
